As you may be aware, one of our year eight students was struck by lightning whilst attending a Hertfordshire district football match on Monday.
The boy received immediate first aid before the emergency services arrived and transported him to the hospital. The child remains in hospital, and his condition is considered serious but stable. The boy is a popular member of our school community and a keen local footballer. He has many friends and teammates who are understandably concerned for his well-being. Pastoral support is available to any student in the school who may have been affected by this recent news. Students should go to the Pastoral Office and speak with Ms Ingrao, Mrs Flynn or Mrs Warren if they need additional support.
We offer the boy’s family our best wishes, thoughts and prayers.
We also wish to respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time and will only make further updates when they are happy for us to do so.
