CHAUNCY SCHOOL APRIL UPDATE – 1ST APRIL 2026
A monthly review of March at Chauncy School with Headteacher Steve Walton. March was an absolute whirlwind of activity at Chauncy School, with achievements, celebrations, and activities across academic subjects, careers, sports, and the arts. Students from Years Eight to Twelve participated in work experience, university visits, and STEM workshops, gaining valuable insights into future careers and higher education. Creative and academic talents were showcased through Shakespeare projects, Young Writers awards, Science Week competitions, and impressive hands-on experiments. Life skills and cooking modules encouraged independence, while Pi Day, Maths challenges, and EPQ research trips supported academic growth. Sporting achievements included football, netball, basketball, handball, swimming, and karate, alongside charity runs raising over £2,200 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The school community also celebrated milestones, including bidding a fond farewell to retiring staff member Kimm Davis, student awards, and upcoming uniform changes, while extracurricular opportunities in media, theatre, and music engaged students creatively. Overall, the term highlighted student dedication, creativity, and community spirit across a wide range of activities. This month’s Friday Sessions Artists are Whizzard, our Year Seven Rock Band, performing Wonderwall by Oasis.
