DISCOVERING THE POWER OF POETRY

A wonderful time was had listening to Daljit discuss the power of poetry and the imagination.

Students in year 10 and 13 heard about the cultural value of the written word, and even wrote a couple of poems themselves, inspired by the poet’s work which he performed for us.

Most profound of all, was possibly the idea that language can heal – in this fractured society, poets and novelists and artists make a difference.

Students will no doubt be inspired now to engage in the poetry of their exams, looking even closer at author and work going forward.
