Year 7 History day

YEAR 7 HISTORY DAY

4th Oct 2026 Joanna Bayley Chauncy News

On Thursday, our Year 7 students enjoyed an action-packed day stepping back in time to explore Medieval life and castles.

Students took part in a series of workshops where they designed and created their own medieval castles. They also took part in an entertaining and interactive theatre performance from Aesop’s Touring Theatre Company, with some truly fantastic performances from our students.

Students then headed to Mountfitchet Castle, where they discovered more about medieval castle defences, exploring their strengths and weaknesses and learning what life was like inside a Motte and Bailey castle.

And, of course, no trip to Mountfitchet would be complete without meeting some of its residents! 🐐 One particularly enthusiastic goat clearly decided that he wanted to join in with the learning and attempted to complete the students’ workbooks – even managing to steal a few straight from their hands!

A fantastic day of history, learning, creativity and fun. Well done, Year 7.
