CHAUNCY NEWS – SEPTEMBER 2026

September has seen a fantastic start to the new academic year at Chauncy School. From outstanding exam results to exciting new opportunities, there’s been so much to celebrate across our school community. We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students, who achieved an excellent set of GCSE and vocational results this summer, and we wish them every success as they move on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and employment. We’ve also been delighted to welcome our new Year 7 and Year 12 students, who have settled in brilliantly and already made a fantastic start to life at Chauncy. Across the school, students have been impressing us with their creativity, commitment and achievements. From Geography biome projects and A Level fieldwork in Norfolk to Media Studies film poster challenges and innovative designs in D&T Club, students have embraced every opportunity to learn and excel. Our Silver Duke of Edinburgh participants also demonstrated outstanding resilience and teamwork during their practice expedition. There has been a real buzz around our enrichment programme, with more than 50 clubs and activities now running each week, alongside revision and intervention sessions. We’re also excited to announce that our 2027 school production will be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! September saw an incredible 51,176 Chauncy Awards presented to students in recognition of their hard work, effort and achievement, while our sports teams have made an impressive start to the season in cross-country, netball and football competitions. We are also celebrating the success of former students, including Emily Matthews on her university achievements and professional footballers Amy Liddiard and Laila Harbert. This month, we have also come together as a community to support former student Jaimee Sharp and her family as they raise funds for specialist treatment, and we thank everyone who has shown such kindness and generosity. Finally, we’re thrilled that our refurbished swimming pool is now fully operational, providing enhanced facilities for students and the wider community. Thank you to our students, staff and families for making September such a positive, successful and inspiring month. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store. September’s Friday Sessions artists are Kabow! who brilliantly performed Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash.
