WE HAVE THE POWER … BACK ON!
We experienced a electricity supply problem at Chauncy today which meant that a part of the school lost all power, including the Dining Hall. For some schools this would mean a certain closure but not us. The quick actions of Mark and Fazil in our site team meant we had an excellent electrician on the case within minutes, whilst ASDA Ware helped out by quickly putting together emergency rations for over 400 lunches. Many thanks to ASDA staff Annie, Tom, Ellis and Liam who bundled together enough bread, cheese, ham, biscuits and crisps to provide a packed lunch for everyone who wanted one. A huge thanks to our Dining Hall staff who managed to make sandwiches for the masses in less than an hour. Finally I would like to thank the students for their patience and understanding and all the Chauncy staff who rallied around to make sure this temporary problem didn’t affect a typically busy school day. We now have power and normal dining facilities will resume tomorrow.
