GCSE EXAM RESULTS 2015

14 year olds at Chauncy are well placed to make sense of today’s GCSE results. Four out of every five Year 9 students passed their GCSE Statistics, two years early.

Our 15 year olds did brilliantly with 76% of Year 10 students earning an A*-C in Science, one year early.

Amongst the 500 young people getting their hard earned results at Chauncy today the top ten highest achieving 16 year olds scored 115 A* and A grades between them. Celebrations all round for dedicated teachers and happy students, all proving that hard work, teamwork and self belief will be rewarded. 76% of our 16 year olds received 5 or more A8-C grades with the highest grades in greater abundance than ever.

It would not be a national results day without the usual exam board howlers and this year saw the English results messed around by AQA failing to recruit markers with the resultant mistakes, cock-ups and contradictions. Chauncy is not alone in demanding a full remark of the English papers so that each student will be justly rewarded.

Headteacher, Dennis O’Sullivan and dozens of teachers are spending the day with beaming Chauncy kids and welcoming new students wanting to join the 6th form. Families should know that the door is rarely closed at Chauncy and we welcome young people onto our vocational courses as well as the traditional academic subjects.
