UP FOR THE CUP! YEAR YEN DISTRICT CUP WINNERS 2025

Congratulations to our Year Ten boys’ football team, who won the Hertfordshire Under 15s District Cup today. A very close game at Richard Hale School saw Chauncy compete with a very strong Broxbourne side. Broxbourne shaded the first half and looked like they would be the first to score in the second period, but a string of excellent saves from goalkeeper and Player of the Match, Harry Watson, kept Chauncy alive in this entertaining tie.

The Chauncy team stepped up and broke on the counterattack with an excellent throughball from Will Ward, finding Tyler Smart, who accelerated beyond the defenders and struck a clean shot into the bottom corner of the Broxbourne goal. Chauncy closed ranks and defended with strength and determination to see out the remaining minutes of the match to lift the second trophy for our school this week. Well done boys! They will face Broxbourne again in the County Cup, which will be played in May.
