GCSE RESULTS 2014

Congratulations to students in Years Nine, Ten and Eleven who picked up GCSE results today.

Another year of success for our Year Eleven students:

  •  % A – G grades – 99%
  • % 5+ A* – C grades – 78%
  • % 5+ A* – C grades including English and Maths – 72%
  • Over one fifth of grades were A or A*
  • % A* – C in English – 84%
  • % A* – C in Mathematics – 78%

Once again, Chauncy students, parents and teachers can be justly proud of this year’s exam results. After last week’s excellent A Level results our Year 11 students have passed all school targets and records. That 72% achieved the passport “5 A*-C grades with English and Maths” is a superb reflection of the effort everyone put in. It only tells part of the story of these young people. Many have gone to college now to study vocational subjects and we wish them every success on those courses. The small number entering employment as apprentices will be shocked by working life but, hopefully, we prepared them for the new challenges. Every student now moves on towards responsible adulthood.

We enter students when they are ready so we have further good news today:

  • Year 10 Core Science 90% A*-C for the 90 entrants
  • Year 10 Cambridge National 100% pass rate for the 26 students
  • Year 9 Statistics 72% A*-C grade for the 160 entered

Exams are a vital part of what we do and the students overperform at Chauncy. We aim to be a happy, safe and successful school for our families and we have done quite well at that this year. We look forward to a demanding 2014 – 15 academic year.
