BASKETBALL BRILLIANCE – YEAR NINE WIN THE LVSSA U14S DISTRICT BASKETBALL COMPETITION

Congratulations to our Year Nine Boys’ Basketball team, who are the 2025 LVSSA U14s District Basketball champions!

In an excellent final against Freman College, the Chauncy boys showed outstanding work rate, superb defensive organisation and fantastic finishing around the basket. Holding a narrow lead in the first quarter, Chauncy extended their dominance throughout the game to win the final 52-21.

A magnificent team effort, with all the players making a valuable contribution to the scoreline, with Charles Hoyle (17 points) and Ethan Fraser Evans (14 points) leading the scoring charts.

Such is the popularity of basketball in this year group, Chauncy entered two teams in the Year Nine competition this year. A huge well done and thank you to all 21 players who have represented Chauncy School over the course of the season. Thanks to coach Fabian Smith, who has coached two winning teams in the District Cup this week, with the chance of a third victory in the Year Ten final on Thursday afternoon. Well done boys!
