A LEVEL RESULTS – THURSDAY 17TH AUGUST 2017

If you are in Hertford Town Centre tonight, and into the early hours of Friday be prepared to see lots of ecstatic 18 year olds laughing uncontrollably and crying without obvious reason. Be patient with them, smile with them and tolerate minor excesses. Today is a very special day.

The A Level results represent many extraordinary achievements. Each exam certificate represents a passport to future ambitions as well as immediate choices. They are now officially adults.

Students at Chauncy sat exams in a wide range of subjects in May and June. A record breaking 60% of students achieved the top grades of A* – B or equivalent in their A Level or equivalent examinations with an overall pass rate of 99.6%

Our excellent A Level results sit alongside extraordinary vocational outcomes in subjects such as Applied Science, Business, Sport and IT. A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Geology and Physics sit alongside Art, Textiles and Photography studies for our 6th Formers. Some qualifications will lead to full time employment and apprenticeships being taken up straight away whilst many will be taking their results to universities around the country. We are delighted with the results achieved by our hardworking students and just as diligent teachers. As parents and teachers we are fortunate to live in such a pleasant area with such brilliant schools.

Individual successes see students such as Josh Lawrence who achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics going onto study Maths at Bath University and Michael Gower who achieved 3 Distinction*s in BTEC Business, IT and Science going on to take up a high level apprenticeship in Pharmacology with EISAI in Hatfield. Several adventurous individuals are also planning “gap years” travelling and volunteering around the world.

Whatever they choose to do their teachers are proud of what they have done so far and we know that our futures are safe in the hands of this summer’s achievers.

If you wish to follow in the footsteps of these successful young people we offer a full range of academic A Level courses and a dynamic portfolio of vocotional qualifications in Year 12 and 13.
